Peterson Added to Staff at Richmond -- August 18, 2005

RICHMOND, Va., USA, August 18. THE University of Richmond has hired Kathryn Peterson as an assistant coach on the staff of Matt Barany. A native of the Philadelphia area, Peterson is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where she was a four-year standout and All-American selection. Peterson is the Virginia Tech record holder in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.

“Katy was an accomplished national level swimmer," Barany said. "Her experience on this level, as a swimmer at Germantown Academy and Virginia Tech, will help us to continue to develop our national level atmosphere and expectations. I am very excited to have Katy here as we head into our first season. She will be a valuable asset in providing these young women with great opportunities to grow in athletics and academics. I have been impressed with her energy and eagerness to help the Richmond program.”
