Summer Schedule is Loaded with Big-Time Competitions

IRVINE, Calif., Usa, July 2. THREE weeks and counting. That’s the amount of time until the World Championships in Montreal get going. One year after the Olympic Games in Athens, the globe’s elite swimmers will gather for the right to call themselves the best in the world. But, the World Championships only mark the beginning of an exciting summer.

Following the World Champs, the United States and Australia will square off in the second edition of the Duel in the Pool, slated for August 2 at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine, Calif. The world’s premier swimming powers, the U.S. and Australia, will compete in a duel meet that will determine bragging rights. The likes of Michael Phelps and Grant Hackett will highlight the Duel in the Pool.

The Woollett Aquatic Center will also stay busy after the Duel, as it is scheduled to host the USA National Championships from August 3-7 and the Speedo Junior National Championships, scheduled for August 9-13.
