National Age Group Water Polo Championships Set for This Weekend -- June 28, 2005

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. USA, June 28. THE future of United States water polo will be in action from July 1-3, when the National Age Group Championships are held at Newport Harbor High School. The male competition will feature two brackets, a Beginner classification (born, 1993) and a Development classification (born, 1991). Between the two groups, 31 teams are expected to participate.

Each of the 11 zones from across the country had the chance to organize an all-star squad for the competition, with the top three finishers from last year invited to this summer’s event. The teams will play a minimum of three games. After this weekend, National Age Group Championships will be held July 7-10 for Youth (born, 1987 or after) and Futures (born, 1991 and after).
