Swimmers Clean Up Academic All-America Honors -- June 15, 2005

PHOENIX, June 15. UPHOLDING the rich tradition the sport has established in the classroom, several swimmers have been named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-America Men’s At-Large Teams. The teams were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The At-Large squads include the sports of swimming, golf, fencing, hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, tennis, water polo and wrestling.

Ohio State diver Mitch Richeson, a two-time Academic All-American, was named the Academic All-America of the Year in the University Division. Meanwhile, Carnegie Mellon swimmer Chris Pearson was recognized as the Academic All-America of the Year in the College Division.

Here are the swimmers who received Academic All-America honors:
