Preparing for the World Championships, Hoff Will be in Action This Weekend

BALTIMORE, Md., June 10. A little more than a month removed from a sterling showing at the United States World Championship Trials, Katie Hoff will compete this weekend. Hoff is entered in seven events at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club Long Course Championships.

The meet is scheduled for today through Monday at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Club, the home of NBAC. Hoff is gearing up for the World Championships in Montreal next month, where she’s slated to contest the 200 and 400 individual medley events and the 200 freestyle. Hoff is also expected to make a mark in relay action.

This weekend, the Olympian is entered in the 100, 200 and 400 freestyles, the 100 and 200 butterfly events, the 200 breaststroke and the 200 I.M. The most intriguing results could arrive in the butterfly events, provided Hoff swims the races.

Aside from Hoff, Courtney Kalisz is the other NBAC product expected to make noise over the weekend. A 15-year-old, Kalisz is another rising star on the American scene. She’s listed as an entrant in the 200, 400 and 800 freestyles, both butterfly events, the 100 and 200 backstrokes and the 200 I.M.
