Mare Nostrum Series Moving to France for Second Leg

CANET, France, June 6. THE second stop on the Mare Nostrum Series starts tomorrow in France and will conclude Wednesday. The meet will feature continued preparation for the World Championships in Montreal. The Mare Nostrum Series kicked off last week with action in Barcelona, Spain.

During the Barcelona leg, Romania’s Camelia Potec and Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh were the top performers. Potec, the reigning Olympic champ in the 200 freestyle, won that event and added triumphs in the 400 and 800 freestyles. As for Cseh, he won the 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley in championship-caliber times. After taking the shorter I.M. in 1:59.87, Cseh roared to a 4:12.59 clocking in the 400 I.M.
