McCan Gets Involved in NAG Record Assault -- March 24, 2005

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., March 24. IN recent weeks, a number of national age-group records have been wiped away. So, Doug McCan figured he would hop aboard the bandwagon.

Competing at last weekend's Northwest Section Championships, McCan set and 11-and-12 mark in the 200 breaststroke, as the Boise YMCA swimmer covered the distance in 2:13.76. The former record, set by Maverick Smalley in 2000, stood at 2:14.56.

In the team race, Tualatin Hills picked up first place, finishing ahead of King Aquatics. Bellevue wrapped up third, followed by Cascade and Issaquah.
