UC-Irvine Anteater Women Defeat UC-SB 172-90; Men Fall 151-105

SANTA BARBARA, CA, February 8. THE UC-Irvine women's swimming team defeated UC Santa Barbara 172-90, while the men's team lost 151-105 Saturday afternoon in Santa Barbara.

Senior Alexis Sheridan won both the 1000 free (10:23.96) and the 500 free (5:02.94). Sophomore Aubrie Smallwood won the 100 breast (1:05.05) and the 200 breast (2:18.49). Freshman Chelsea Nagata won both the 100 free (52.65) and the 100 fly (55.49).

On the men's side, freshman Eddie Erazo broke the UCI record in the 200 back with his win with a time of 1:49.41. Sophomore Eric Reilly in the 50 free (21.16) and junior Dreason Barry in the 200 IM (1:57.59) each won events for the 'Eaters.

The UCI women finish the year with a dual meet record of 10-3 including a 7-0 record against Big West Conference opponents, the men finish with a record of 6-5. The 'Eaters will next compete February 23rd-26th at the Big West Championships at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.
