COLLEGE PARK, MD, February 7. MARYLAND reports its senior woman Elizabeth Lavell (Annapolis, Md.) was named ACC Swimmer of the Week this week for her performance in the Terps' 119.5-117.5 victory over Virginia Saturday.

Lavell won two individual events at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Charlottesville, Va., including an NCAA `B' cut time of 4:53.00 in the 500-yard freestyle. She also recorded her fastest time of the season in the 1,000-free, winning the event in 9:55.19.

The No. 13 Terps (11-0, 7-0 ACC) completed their second consecutive undefeated season with the win over the 12th-ranked Cavaliers.

Lavell is the second Terrapin to be named ACC Swimmer of the Week this season. Senior Marina Mulyayeva (Almaty, Kazakhstan) earned the honor in November for her performance in the Terrapin Cup Invitational.

The Terps return to the pool Feb. 16-19 for the ACC Championships in Atlanta, Ga.
