2004 Canadian Open SC Nationals, Days One and Two

CALGARY, Alberta, November 28. LAURA Nicholls, TO, broke the Canadian national record in the 50 freestyle in the prelims of day two at :25.03, winning the title in the evening at :25.24.

On day one the leading swims, per the FINA point system, all came in the 50 backstroke, with Jennifer Carroll, Megophias, leading the women with a swim on the edge of the all-time top ten, :27.55 (1058 pts.). Two men were just short of 1000 points in the same event. Matt Rose, Trent Swimming, won at :25.39 (990), just in front of Callum Ng, UBC Dolphins at :25.42 (988).

The top performer beyond Nicholls on day two was Keith Beavers, ROW, who was a double winner in the 100 back (:54.24) and 200 IM (2:02.39).
