Quick for President -- September 9, 1996

Richard Quick, the 1996 Olympic women's team coach and women's coach at Stanford University, announced today that he will run for president of United States Swimming. Quick will oppose incumbent Carol Zaleski at the USS Convention this week in Orlando, Fla. Quick said he would like to see United States Swimming take on more of a leadership role in dealing with FINA.
