Great Seats Available But Selling Quickly for World Championships in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS – The Organizing Committee for the 7th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) announced that great seats are still available for each day of the event, but selling quickly. A limited amount of tickets remain available in the Splash Zone and Gold Level for Friday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 10.

In addition, Silver Level Single-day tickets for Oct. 8, 9, 10 and 11, are now available through Ticketmaster for the 2004 FINA World Swimming Championships (25m).

The 2004 World Swimming Championships take place Oct. 7-11 in Conseco Fieldhouse. More than 600 swimmers – including 2004 U.S. Olympic gold medalists Michael Phelps (Towson, Md.), Natalie Coughlin (Concord, Calif.), Amanda Beard (Irvine, Calif.) and Aaron Peirsol (Irvine Calif.) – from more than 100 countries are expected to compete.

Silver Level tickets are $35 for preliminaries and finals, $25 for finals only and $10 for preliminaries only. Splash Zone tickets are $60 for preliminaries and finals, $48 for finals only and $15 for preliminaries only. Gold Level tickets are $50 for preliminaries and finals, $35 for finals only and $15 for preliminaries only.

Bronze level tickets are also available starting at $10 per session.

Throughout the Oct. 7-11 event, preliminaries sessions begin at 9:30 a.m., while finals sessions begin at 7 p.m. The lone exception is the finals session on Thursday, Oct. 7, which begin at 6 p.m. and include Opening Ceremonies for the 2004 FINA World Swimming Championships (25m).

Tickets are available first-come, first-served through Ticketmaster at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster charge-by-phone numbers (1/317-239-5151 in Central Indiana) and at the Conseco Fieldhouse box office.

In addition, group ticket packages are on sale now. Priority seating placement will be given to groups who order 10 or more tickets to any day of competition and multiple-day ticket orders. Taking place in a short course (25 meters) format, the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) will feature the world's elite swimmers just six weeks after the Athens Olympic Games. Conseco Fieldhouse ­ the home of the NBA's Indiana Pacers and the WNBA’s Indiana Fever – will house a temporary 25-meter 300,000-gallon competition pool and a 175,000-gallon warm-up pool. It will be the first time a swimming event has taken place in an NBA arena.
