ATHENS, August 14. MICHAEL Phelps won gold in the 400 meter individual medley with a world record 4:08.26. Eric Vendt repeated his silver medal from Sydney with a 4:11.81, running down Hungary's Laszlo Cseh on the last length of freestyle.
