Speedo Champions Series at the Indiana University SRSC This Week!

Bloomington, IN – July 28 – THE Indiana University Division of Recreational Sports has announced it is hosting one of the Central Zone USA Swimming Speedo Champion Series events starting today (Wednesday) at the Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center in Indiana University’s Student Recreational Sports Center, through Sunday, August 1. This Central Zone Sectional 3 meet features 600 of the regions’ best swimmers from Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.

Hosted for the third time by IU Division of Recreational Sports, the Division recently received the “Best Local Host Award” from the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau. Annie Eakin, event director and IU Recreational Sport’s assistant program director for aquatics, says: “We are honored to be hosting this event for USA Swimming again this year. It’s also a great opportunity for local swimming enthusiasts to see top competitors – including future Olympic hopefuls”.

New this year, IU Recreational Sports has installed a live webcam that will allow family, friends and swim enthusiasts who are not able to attend in person, to view the race heats as they happen.

More than 1000 spectators, coaches and volunteers are expected to attend this annual event. All swim events are open to the public. Admission fee is $2 for the preliminaries and $4 for the finals. Day passes are $5 and all-session passes are $20 each.
