TCU’s Keleigh Wentworth Earns C-USA Honors for the Second Consecutive Week

FORT WORTH, Tex, January 20. TCU Freshman swimmer Keleigh Wentworth managed to monopolize Conference USA's swimmer of the week awards again for the week of Jan. 20, the conference office announced today. This makes Wentworth's third time to receive the honor in her young career.

Wentworth, a four-year high school all-American from Midland, Texas, shaved nearly three seconds off her 1,000 yard freestyle time in the conference meet against Houston, despite a false final lap bell that robbed her of an even quicker time. She still managed to swim a 10:23.08 in the event, good enough to boost her to the top of the Conference USA for the 1,000 free. Wentworth also won the 500 freestyle against the Cougars, leaving her unbeaten in the event, and won the 400 IM in 4:28.99. The next day the freshman claimed the 100 fly against New Mexico State's Aggies. Wentworth holds the season-bests among the C-USA teams in the 1,000, 500, and 1,650 freestyle events.

TCU's women's team swept both their meets over the weekend against Houston and New Mexico State and is now 10-1 in the season while the men are 8-1.
