Amazing: North Penn High School Notches Its 234th Straight Victory

PITTSBURGH, Penn., January 9. ON a yearly basis, the North Penn High School juggernaut keeps producing first-rate performances. Well, this season is no different, as the Pennsylvania state power moved its winning streak to 234 meets Thursday with a 120-66 Suburban One League win over Souderton.

Undefeated since the 1987 season, North Penn annually contends for supremacy in the Keystone State. The Knights have won 31 consecutive league championships and 15 straight District One (Southeastern Pennsylvania) crowns.

In topping Souderton, the quartet of Mike Kerr, Adam Reynolds, Brad Oglevee and Brendan Fanslau clocked 1:38.44 for the 200 medley relay, a sizzling time for a midseason dual meet.

Reynolds added a 59.99 mark en route to victory in the 100 breaststroke and added a 2:00.18 mark in the 200 individual medley. Chris Salamone won the 200 and 500 freestyle events and Zach Swartz won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

North Penn is the defending Pennsylvania state champion at the Class AAA level and has won five of the last seven state crowns. The Knights haven’t finished worst than second at states since 1995.
