Texas A&M Signs Blue Tide Standout

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, December 16. TEXAS A&M Head Women's Swimming Coach Steve Bultman announced the signing of Humble High School senior Brittany Lentz to a letter-of-intent on Tuesday.

Lentz is a senior breaststroke/IM specialist for Coach Steve Wilson and the Blue Tide Aquatics club team. She is a U.S. Open finalist as well as a junior national finalist and relay team champion. Her club squad has also captured the junior national title. She will compete at spring nationals in the 200 breaststroke.

"Brittany is a good student that knew a lot about us," Bultman said. "She is very versatile and will help us in the breaststroke and the individual medley. I think she will continue to make great strides in our program."

Lentz is a three-time All-American and five-time state finalist for Coach Chuck Blackman at Humble High School. She is a two-time team MVP and is in her second year as co-captain of the high school squad for which she holds five school records.

"Texas A&M is filled with traditions, spirit, and unity. When I took my recruiting trip there, I just knew it was the place for me. I am looking forward to working with the girls as well as the coaches – Steve and Kristin both showed so much dedication and that is really exciting to me!"

Lentz ranks third in her class and is a National Merit Commended Student. She is a member of the National Honor Roll and is a Scholastic All-American. She is involved in the National Honors Society and the National Charity League.
