Amanda Beard Featured in Men’s Fitness Magazine

NEW YORK, November 26. FOUR-TIME Olympic medalist and co- world record-holder in the 200m breaststroke, Amanda Beard, will be featured in the February 2004 issue of Men’s Fitness magazine.

Beard, a world-class swimmer since she made the 1996 Olympic team in Atlanta at age 14, is being touted as the Summer Olympics’ “it” girl. Widely thought to be the sexiest current Summer Olympic athlete, Beard will bare her sculpted body for photographer Ron Cadiz in New York City for the upcoming edition of the magazine.

Beard was thrilled when asked to shoot for Men’s Fitness Magazine.
"Men’s Fitness magazine rocks!," she said. "I work out six days a week both in the water and dryland training. I feel it's about time someone noticed that Olympic swimmers are some of the most beautiful women in the world. I want to model and I hope this helps create some buzz for my future career. Swimmers have the best bodies, now Men’s Fitness magazine’s readers can see for themselves!"

Beard is currently training to make her third consecutive U.S. Olympic team and compete at the 2004 Athen’s Games. A student at the University of Arizona, Amanda has been the focus of endorsement and ad campaigns by such companies as Speedo, Red Bull Energy Drinks and The Defenders of Wildlife.

At 22, Beard hopes to win several more gold medals in Greece and continue training for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
