DALLAS, Texas, November 11. EARLY Signing Day for high school seniors is November 12, and 17 year-old high school standouts, Candace and Jennifer Blackman, will be signing with Southern Methodiust University at Highland Park High School.

Having the girls commit to SMU, and keeping them close to home "is a huge thing for the District, for University Park, and for the sport of swimming in Texas," according to their coach, Chris Girard.

Candace and Jennifer wanted to make their decision early so as to focus on the 2004 US Olympic Trials. Both girls are hoping to make the 2004 USA Olympic swim team.

Candace and Jennifer have been highly decorated athletes throughout their swimming career. They are hoping to finish out their high school careers with four state championships.

Both girls are also very excited about their future as SMU Mustangs. SMU has a been a Top 10 NCAA women’s swim team for years and Jennifer and Candace hope to combine their own winning ways with those of the Mustangs.
