Cumberland College Has Record Weekend

WILLIAMSBURG, Kent, November 10. THIS weekend the Cumberland College men's and women’s swim teams traveled to the University of the South, where they competed in the Sewanee Invitational swim tournament. Both teams did an outstanding job as the men brought home first place and the women brought home third.

Cumberland swimmers placed first in 18 out of 34 events. The women’s team broke 11 meet records, one pool record, and had 19 NAIA National cuts. The men also did an outstanding job as they pulled together and won first place in the Invitational.

When asked about the performance of the swim team coach Garry Nelson stated, “This was the best overall meet performance since I’ve been at Cumberland College. The men’s team finished first and the women broke 11 meet records showing that the overall team's performance was top notch.”
