Groundbreaking Ceremony for Waterworks Aquatic Center & Swim School in Irvine

IRVINE, Calif, September 12. JON Alpert, the 25-year-old President & CEO of Waterworks Aquatics, teamed with local investors to purchase the 1.7-acre lot in the Irvine Spectrum and plans to build the $5 million swimming facility on the site. It will be the only indoor and outdoor facility of its kind in Irvine. The facility is scheduled for completion in March 2004.

Waterworks Aquatic Center &Swim School will offer many year-round community based programs such as swim lessons to all ages, water physical therapy, water aerobics, a masters swim program, a youth swim team, swim meets, water polo, water volleyball, and water basketball.

Jon Alpert, Marian Bergerson, Irvine Mayor Larry Agran, Jon's students (there will be activities for the kids) and their parents, and other governmental officials will be breaking ground on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 3 p.m. at 25 Waterworks Way, Irvine.
