Katie Taylor, Former Auburn Sprinter, Wins Regional Emmy

ATLANTA, June 17. KATIE Taylor, a former multiple- year Southeastern Conference sprint freestyle, freestyle relay and medley relay champion at Auburn, recently earned a Southern Regional Emmy Award for her production role with Fox Sports Net South's SEC-TV series.

The show airs weekly (September through May) on the Atlanta-based regional sports television network.
Taylor's collaborative Emmy Award was presented by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences at its Atlanta chapter banquet last Saturday night, June 14.

Taylor, a native of Muncie, Ind., swam for the Tigers from 1995-99 and won SEC championships in the 50-yard freestyle (1998-99), 400-yard freestyle relay ('97-98-99), 400-yard medley relay ('98) and 200-yard medley relay ('97-98).

At FSN South, the nation's largest regional sports network, Taylor recently concluded her third year as a production assistant with SEC-TV, a 41-week, live studio program, covering up-to-the-minute news on the Southeastern Conference and telecast to more than 9.2 million homes in seven Southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee).

SEC-TV received the 2003 Southern Regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement: Television Program Series, establishing the show as the top series across NATAS' Southern region.

Joining Taylor in receiving the Emmy Award were Fox Sports Net South senior producer Ray Goodrich and associate producer Jenn Gleason.
