NCAA Div. I Men: Harvard Swamps Cornell, Dartmouth -- February 9, 2003

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., February 8. HARVARD'S men's swimmers drowned Cornell and Dartmouth at Blodgett Pool here this afternoon. The Crimson defeated the Cornell's Big Red, 168-74, and toppled the Big Green, 148-92.

Harvard captured nine of the meet's 13 events on the afternoon. Ben Hanley got things going with a win in the 1000 freestyle, finishing with a 9:30.31. Cory Walker took the top spot in the 200 freestyle (1:41.74) and Kemi George placed first in the 50 freestyle (20.98).

Enrique Roy and Dani Rybalko finished 1-2 in the 1M and 3M diving events. Walker won his second event of the day with a 1:51.85 in the 200 butterfly. Dan Shevchik (1:47.04) captured the 200 backstroke and James Lawler (4:41.52) won the 500 freestyle.

Harvard closed out the afternoon when the relay team of George, Leif Drake, Mark Kneply and Andrew Krna won the 400 freestyle in a 3:05.04.
