From Reuter's News Service - Viktor Avdiyenko, who coached the "human torpedo" Denis Pankratov to 2 Olympic gold medals in Atlanta, has been appointed senior trainer of the Russian swim team.

Avdiyenko, who also guided Yevgeny Sadovy to three Olympic gold medals in Barcelona, has said he worked out Pankratov's technique of swimming underwater for up to 30 meters.
