NCAA Div. II: Ouachita Baptist Splits -- November 26, 2002

ARKADELPHIA, Nov. 25. THE Ouachita Baptist University Tiger Sharks posted a win over Centenary 97-5 and fell to St. Louis University 58-55 while the Lady Tigers Sharks defeated Centenary 100-10 and Arkansas-Little Rock 93-14 while falling short to St. Louis 60-53 and North Texas 59-54 in dual meets Saturday afternoon at Ouachita’s Waggoner Pool.

The Tigers Sharks came away with a 1-1 record in the meet and the Lady Tiger Sharks finished at 2-2.

Ouachita’s men took first place in four events and took first and second in both the 50-yard free and the 100-yard free with Chris Achey finishing first and Mike Waldrop finishing second in both.

Adam Weaber took first place in the 200-yard free and Jon Manning took first place in the 500-yard free event. The Ouachita 200-yard medley relay team of Jon Oynes, Waldrop, Chris Landreneau and Adam Weaber also earned first-place points for the Tigers.

On the women’s side for Ouachita, five events were won by the Lady Tigers. Robin Dann took first place in the 1000-yard free and Jen Lovette took first in the 200-yard butterfly.

Kelly McGowan won the 100-yard free with Syd Barker finishing second in the event for the Lady Tiger Sharks. Emily Looney won the 500-yard free and the 200-free relay team of Louise Griffin, Barker, Dana Power and McGowan took first place points with their win.

The next meet for the Ouachita teams will be on December 6-7 when they participate in the UALR Christmas Invitational in Little Rock.
