SMU Holds Intra-Squad Scrimmage -- October 18, 2002

DALLAS, Oct. 18. THE SMU swimming & diving team held its annual Intra-Squad meet Thursday night at Perkins Natatorium in Dallas, Texas.

The Red team swept the Blue team, winning the women's meet 63-40, and the men's 62-42.

There were several noteworthy times, all by the women's team. Junior Georgina Lee (Red)was a double winner, taking the 200 free in 1:49.45 and the 100 fly in 55.91. Freshman Sara Nordenstam (Red) won the 200 IM in 2:02.21.

Alenka Kejzar (Red), a junior, clocked 56.52 to win the 100 back, while sophomore Flavia Rigamonti (Red) went a very strong 4:49.71 to breeze in the 500 free.

The Blue team's Corrie Clar, a junior, won the 100 breast in 1:04.14.

Jono Newton, a junior swimming for the Red team won the men's sprint double, taking the 50 free in 21.32 and the 100 in 47.29.

The following is a list of results from the meet.

SMU kicks-off its regular season Oct. 23 when it hosts TCU at 5:00 p.m.
