New World Record at World Cup 5! -- January 30, 1997

Glasgow's new Tollcross Park Pool saw its first world record (pending FINA ratification). Han Xue of China swam a 30.88 in the 50m breaststoke to better her previous mark of 30.98.

At the conclusion of the World Cup (February 8-9 in Paris, France), the total points will be tallied and prize money will be awarded. The breakdown of the scoring system and prize money will be posted tommorrow.
