International Swimming Hall of Fame -- January 13, 1997

Olympic champions, past and present, were inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Honorees include swimmers Mike Barrowman, Matt Biondi, Ellie Daniel, Kim Linehan, Jesse Vassallo, Ursula Happe (GER), Shigeo Arai (JPN), and Walter Brarck (GER). Mark Schubert was inducted as a coach.

Other inductees include: synchronized swimmers Karen and Sarah Josephson, diver Megan Neyer, contributor William Berge Phillips (AUS), water polo player Istvan Szivos, Sr. (HUN), and coach Katsuyoshi Murakami (JPN).
