Moses, Tanaka Shine at Sarasota Meet -- June 28, 2002

SARASOTA, Fla., June 28. BREASTSTROKERS Ed Moses and Masami Tanaka, both swimming for Curl-Burke Swim Club, were the standouts at the Sarasota YMCA Long Course swim meet last weekend in Sarasota, Florida.

Moses, the world record-holder for 50 meters breaststroke long course, and 100 and 200 meters short course, easily won the 100 meters in 1:02.13, beating his training partner and roommate, Jarrod Marrs, at 1:04.05. Moses also won the 200m breast in 2:16.06.

Tanaka, who set a short course world record in the 200 meter breaststroke at the SC World Championships in Hong Kong, duplicated Moses' feat, taking the women's 100m breast in 1:09.87 and the 200 in 2:29.37.
