Bill Heusner Is Improving, Out of Intensive Care -- June 6, 2002

June 6. COACH Bill Heusner is much improved, according to his wife Ellie Heusner, who conveyed the good news to Michigan State's Dr. Gail Dummer in a phone conversation last night.

Heusner is no longer in neuro-intensive care, but rather in a "step-down unit" with less intense monitoring, his wife said. The feeding and ventilator tubes have been removed. She also reported that he has walked down the hall twice.
