By Gail M. Dummer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., March 14. THE meet information for the 2002 USA Swimming Disability Championships in Federal Way, WA, is now available on the USA Swimming web site at http://www.usa-swimming.org.

Click on "national events" then "2002 Disability Championships."

Notice the competition dates of June 13-15 (Thursday through Saturday). Paper copies of the meet information booklet will be available soon. If you have questions about the meet information, please contact Dean Ekeren at USA Swimming headquarters (dekeren@usa-swimming.org).

Further information about classification and qualifying for the USA team that will compete at the 2002 IPC World Swimming Championships should also be
available soon. During the past several months, representatives from USA Swimming and U.S. Paralympics have been negotiating the relationship between the two organizations. At this writing, it seems likely that U.S. Paralympics will be responsible for classification matters and world championship team
selection.

FYI – U.S. Paralympics is a newly created division of the U.S. Olympic Committee. For more information about U.S. Paralympics, check out their web site at http://www.usparalympics.org.

The IPC Swimming web site has information about the world championships and also a list of swimmers' classifications.
