Mary D., not Mary T., Flies to Fast Times

CHICAGO, March 10. MARY Descenza, a World Championship team member last summer in the 100 fly, had several outstanding swims at the Speedo
Championship Series meet here over the weekend.

Ckmpeting for her Academy Bulldogs team at the University of Illinois-Chicago pool, Descenza won and swam prs of 1:57.00 for the 200 fly, 2:01.97 for the 200 IM and 1:59.70 for the 200 back.

She also won the 100 fly in 53.33, slightly slower than her pr of 53.11.

All of Descenza's swims would qualify her for the NCAA Division 1 meet in a couple of weeks at Austin were it not for the fact that she's still a senior at Rosary High School where she'll graduate this spring.

A couple of other fine performances were turned in by Kammy Miller (Unat.), who won the 200 breast (pr 2:15.89) and Lake Forest's Matt Grevers, 16 years
old, who won the 200 back in a pr 1:46.05.
