Poll of the Week: Which Individual World Record Set at the Olympics Was Most Impressive?

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 10. WE'RE We're sticking with the Olympics for our newest poll question, and the topic is world records. Of the six individual events that had world records broken, which was the most impressive? Was it Dana Vollmer's in the 100 fly, Cameron van der Burgh in the 100 breast, Daniel Gyurta in the 200 breast, Rebecca Soni's 200 breast, Missy Franklin in the 200 back or Sun Yang's 1500 freestyle? To vote, just go to swimmingworldmagazine.com/poll to vote, or click on the poll icon on our home page. We'll bring you the results of this poll on August 17.

We saw a lot of different countries on the medal stand at the London Aquatics Center — 21, in fact — and the performances of a few of those countries really stood out. We asked you to vote on the country besides the United States that most impressed you at the pool, and this was a close one. China, which won 10 medals, topped the list with 33 percent, followed by France, the winner of seven medals, with 28 percent. South Africa and Australia tied for third place with 10 percent each, rounded out by Japan, which got 9 percent.
