Poll of the Week: Which Aquatic Sport (Besides Open Water and Pool Swimming) Are You Most Excited to Follow in London?

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 22. THE Olympic Games are about 30 days away, and we know swimming will be one of the most popular events to watch. Besides open water and pool swimming, which aquatic sport are you most excited to follow in London? Is it diving, synchronized swimming or water polo? Go to swimmingworldmagazine.com/poll and place your vote.

We're just a few days away from the U.S. Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, and with some of the storylines revolving around the comebacks of such swimmers as Brendan Hansen and Janet Evans, we wanted to know which retired American Olympian you think should be swimming at the Trials?

By a large margin — 55.33 percent of the vote — fans believe Aaron Peirsol should have come out of retirement to race once again in the backstroke events. Peirsol swam his last race in 2010.

Coming in second in the voting was Ian Crocker, the former world record holder in the 100 fly, with 22.34 percent, followed by 400 and 1500 freestyle American record holder Larsen Jensen with 13.2 percent and three-time Olympian Gary Hall Jr. with 9.14 percent.
