SHANGHAI, China, July 28. FRESH off his epic world record in the men's 200 IM, Ryan Lochte completed an amazing double with the top seed in the men's 200 back at the FINA World Long Course Championships.

Lochte checked in with a 1:55.65 in the distance dorsal, and will be looking for another world title this meet after only taking bronze in the event in 2009. Lochte captured the men's 200 back world title in 2007 before Aaron Peirsol reclaimed the world title in 2009. A win in the finale would give Lochte his 10th world long course title, and 16th career medal.

Japan's Ryosuke Irie, who took silver in 2009, qualified second in 1:55.96, while USA's Tyler Clary snatched third in 1:56.00. Clary is looking to add to his silver medal in the 400 IM from 2009.

China's Zhang Fenglin (1:56.70), Poland's Radoslaw Kawecki (1:57.15), Italy's Sebastiano Ranfagni (1:57.96), Japan's Kazuki Watanabe (1:57.97) and Russia's Stanislav Donets (1:58.00) earned the other spots in the finale.
