SHANGHAI, China, July 24. CHINA did the unprecedented when Qiu Bo concluded a victorious outing in the men's 10-meter platform diving event at the FINA World Championships.

Qiu's tally of 585.45 points gave China the gold-medal sweep in diving with a 10-for-10 effort. The only other time a team has swept the top of the podium in diving occurred in 1982 when the United States won all four gold medals available. China had previously held the record for gold medals with nine from 2007, but broke that today with Qiu's victory.

USA's David Boudia won the battle for second behind Qiu with 544.25 points, while Germany's Sascha Klein snatched bronze with 534.50 points.

"It's always very tough to compete with the Chinese," Boudia said. "It was good to hear teammates' cheer for me. Shanghai is very beautiful, and I had a good time training and competing here."

Notably, Great Britain's Thomas Daley (505.10) took fifth, while USA's Nick McCrory placed sixth with 501.65 points.
