USA Swimming Sectionals, Columbia: Jack Brown Downs Meet Record

COLUMBIA, Missouri, July 21. THE USA Swimming Sectionals held in Columbia kept rolling with another meet record taking a tumble in long course meter action.

Jack Brown took down his second meet record in as many days with a 4:27.09 in the men's 400 IM. That swim cleared the 4:29.65 set by Bobby Bollier back in 2008. KC Blazer Austin Acheson (4:33.66) and Michael Glenn (4:34.54) placed second and third.

KC Blazer Katarine Sickle won the women's 200 free in 2:04.45, while Razorback's Sigrun Sverrisdottir placed second in 2:05.32. Kansas' Rebecca Swank picked up third in 2:05.36.

KC Blazer Ben Bravence captured the men's 200 free in 1:52.23 with a Trials cut, while teammate Ben Scheffer finished second in 1:54.75. Greater Omaha's Will Schuermann took third in 1:54.92.

CSP Tiderider Jill Schilling claimed the women's 400 IM in a Trials cut 4:55.68. Arkansas Dolphin Jess Garrison, 15, placed second in 4:59.12, while Danielle Spradlin touched third in 5:00.51.

Results from the 100 fly events were not made available.
