Hong Kong Odd Man Out as Kazan, Guadalajara Tabbed 2015, 2017 FINA World Championship Hosts

SHANGHAI, China, July 14. FINA has awarded the next two World Championship hosting duties to Kazan, Russia and Guadalajara, Mexico, according to a media alert just sent out.

Kazan will host the 2015 FINA World Championships, while Guadalajara will host the 2017 FINA World Championships. The FINA Bureau vote left out Hong Kong, which had made the final three to be named host of one of the two events.

The 14th FINA World Championships are taking place this month in Shanghai, while the 15th FINA World Championships will take place in Barcelona, Spain in 2013.

The move comes on the heels of FINA awarding the 2014 FINA World Masters Championships to Montreal, Canada.
