USA Swimming Adds Three Coaches to Banned List So Far This Year

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, June 8. SO far this year, USA Swimming has added three coaches to its "Individuals Permanently Suspended or Ineligible" list.

The new additions in reverse order of suspension date are as follows (please note that once a ban occurs, individuals have a 30-day window in which to appeal before being included on the list):

Todd Sousa, California:
Sousa's suspension dates back to April 29, 2011. His ban is in relation to a violation of sexual code of conduct rules, stemming from charges that he had sex with a minor.

Christian Webb, North Dakota:
Webb's suspension dates back to March 11, 2011. His ban stems from child pornography charges that landed him 12 years in a federal prison during sentencing that occurred last month.

Ray Lawrence, Indiana:
Lawrence's suspension dates back to March 8, 2011. The reasoning for his ban is in question as he has been banned for actions that occurred prior to the current Code of Conduct, and USA Swimming declined to comment any further.
