TEMPE, Arizona, May 30. THE four-day Arizona Invitational wrapped up today in Tempe on the campus of Arizona State University. This last session featured one more "Super Final," consisting of four swimmers battling for prize money. Earlier in the meet, super finals had been held in the 50 free, 200 free, and 100 back, and tonight, four swimmers went at it in the 200 IM.

Tucson Ford's Darian Townsend starred with wins in the 200 IM super final and also the 100 free. Townsend, a South African Olympic champ in the 400 free relay from 2004, posted a 2:02.73 in the men's 200 IM super final to come up well short of his seventh-ranked 1:59.06 from last month.
