Danish Open: Third Day in the Books

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, April 2. THE third day of long course competition is in the books at the Danish Open being held in Copenhagen.

Mathias Gydesen dominated the men's 100 back finale with a 55.38 for the win. Andreas Schiellerup set a Danish junior record with a second-place 57.15, while Marcus Bak took third in 58.74. Mie Nielsen topped the women's 100 back in 1:02.07. Pernille Larsen (1:02.57) and Ida Lindborg (1:02.70) completed the podium.

Mads Glaesner topped the men's 200 free in 1:50.03. Daniel Skaaning finished second in 1:50.55, while Anders Lie earned third in 1:51.40. Pernille Blume cruised to the women's 200 free title in 2:02.25. Randi Fogh Nielsen (2:04.72) and Amalie Emma Thomsen (2:05.56) took second and third.

Viktor Bromer posted a 4:27.97 in the men's 400 IM, while Erik Persson picked up second in 4:31.88. Mads Jensen touched third in 4:34.62. Katrine Holm Sorensen blasted the championship field in the women's 400 IM with a 4:50.51. Julie Leth-Espensen posted a distant second-place time of 4:57.23, while Ellen Olsson took third in 5:07.34.

Emil Klingberg snatched the men's 50 breast title in 29.16. Mathias Andersen (29.42) and Jani Rusi (29.79) finished second and third. Josephina Bartela took the women's 50 breast title in 32.56. Cecilie Holten (32.59) and Malin Westman (33.979) rounded out the top three.

In semifinal action, Nikolai Kirketerp-Moller led the men's 100 fly in 54.17. Jeanette Ottesen clocked a 59.48 to lead the women's 100 fly semifinal rounds.

In disability swimming, Kasper Zysek was listed first in the men's 50 free with a 30.17, while Amalie Vinther was listed first in the women's 50 free in 33.99.
