MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, March 25. WHILE Damir Dugonjic's U.S. Open and NCAA record of 50.86 has been in doubt since it occurred during the techsuit era in 2009, Dugonjic erased all doubt with a jammer-fueled sub-51 to win the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division I Men's Championships.

Dugonjic turned in the second-fastest effort of all time with a 50.94 for his third-straight triumph in the event. He won in 2009 (50.86) and 2010 (51.65). He now joins other three-time winners John Hencken of Stanford, Jeremy Linn of Tennessee and Richard Nelson of Michigan. Brendan Hansen of Texas and Steve Lundquist of SMU are the four-time winners.

Nolan Koon of California placed second in 51.63 to move to third all time in the event behind Mike Alexandrov's American record of 51.35 from December 2010.
