Takata High School Swim Team Members Still Missing

RIKUZENTAKATA, Japan, March 22. NEWS currently reported by The New York Times states that 29 students of Takata High School are still missing, including members of the Takata High School Swim Team, after being caught when the tsunami hit Japan.

The Times is reporting that the swim team went to practice at the city's natatorium "overlooking the broad sand beach of Hirota Bay," and many were caught in the tsunami that "flattened three-quarters of the city in minutes."

The Times also reports that swim coach Motoko Mori, 29, as well as American Monty Dickson, 26, who helped teach English to local students, are also missing.

Overall, Rikuzentakata has been hit hard by the tsunami, which killed 775 people with 1,700 still missing.
