Next Winter Getaway: Do The Bonaire EcoSwim

JULY 11. THE Caribbean, site of the magnificent St. Croix Coral Reef Swim and Flowers One-Mile Swim on Grand Cayman, and home of some of the world's most beautiful waters and reefs is now the site for a new open water swimming event and adventure.

The Dutch Caribbean Island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles is located 50 miles north of Venezuela and 30 miles from Curacao. Located outside the hurricane belt, Bonaire's average temperature is 82F (27.8 C) with an average water temperature of 80F ( 26.7 C). The diligent stewardship of its marine resources has created a water-lover's paradise. Approximately 60% of the island and 100% of nearby Klein Bonaire is National Park. All of the waters off Bonaire's coast have been legally protected since 1979.
