National Junior College Athletics Association National Championships: Lincoln’s Bryce Bohman Sets NJCAA Record, Indian River Continue Dominance

BUFFALO, New York, March 2. INDIAN River State College made a strong move towards extended its astonishing streaks of 36 (men) and 29 (women) straight national team titles during day one of the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) National Championships. The meet is taking place in short course yard format.

Indian River jumped out to day-one leads in both the men's and women's team races with 80 points each. Daytona State stood second in the women's race with 66 points, while Lincoln College held third with 64 points. Daytona State (68) and Darton (62) comprised the top three among the men.

Lincoln's Bryce Bohman set an NJCAA record in the men's 100 back with his relay leadoff of 48.18. That time beat the 49.04 set by Indian River's Zack Stockman in 2009. Lindenwood went on to placed third with a 3:23.32.

IRSC's Stephanie Doran, Tryshia Centeno, Annie Cohoat and Vanessa Hanbury won the women's 400 medley relay in 3:46.29, while their teammates Harry Traystman, Jared Pike, Nick Schuttinger and James Burden topped the men's 400 medley relay in 3:17.87.

Indian River's Hanbury, Amanda Lukovic, Doran and Katie Pheil claimed the women's 800 free relay title in 7:34.63. IRSC's John Ellis, Lucas Akker, Michael Lucchesi and Schuttinger snatched the men's 800 free relay crown in 6:42.08.
