Minnesota State-Mankato vs. Gustavus Adolphus

ST. PETER, Minnesota, January 28. THE Minnesota State men's swimming and diving team turned in 28 top-five finishes en route to a 133-108 victory over Gustavus Adolphus Friday evening.

Of those 28 top-five finishes, seven were first-place finishes including wins in both relay events.

The 200-yard medley relay team finished first in 1:38.56 and that team was made up of freshman Nick Jobeun, senior Brian Parks, freshman Tony Spiel and freshman Blake Asbury.

The 400-yard freestyle relay won in 3:14.51 and that team was made up of sophomore Keaton Brown, Asbury, junior Matt Chida and senior Chris Gogel.

Other Mavericks earning first-place finishes include: Gogel (200-yard freestyle, 1:46.13), Asbury (50-yard freestyle, :22.49), freshman Connor Florand (one-meter dive, 245.45 and three-meter dive, 256.75), Chida (100-yard fly, :52.43) and Parks (100-yard breast, :59.20).

Minnesota State returns to action next weekend as they swim in the Minnesota Challenge.
