Seton Hall vs. Connecticut

STORRS, Connecticut, January 22. THE University of Connecticut men's and women's swimming and diving teams each posted wins over Seton Hall on Saturday as the men won by a 176-120 count and the women were victorious by a 187-108 score. The men's team improves to 5-1 on the season while the women are 4-2.

The women's team was led by four double winners on the day. Sophomore Jordan Bowen (Lake Elmo, Minn.) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.02 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03.65. Sophomore Kim Fleming (Mississauga, Ont.) won the 100-yard backstroke in 59.02 seconds and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:08.39.

Junior Erin DeVinney (Avondale, Ariz.) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:06.62 and the 100-yard butterfly in 58.92 seconds. Sophomore Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) won both diving events with a 282.75 in the one-meter and a 273.38 in the three-meter.

For the men, there were three double-winners. Sophomore Karim Zayed (Montreal, Que.) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.42. and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:44.60. Sophomore Joe Glowacki (Erie, Pa.) won the 100-yard butterfly in 52.18 seconds and the 200-yard butterfly in 1:55.09. Senior Adam Genuario won both diving events with a 245.40 in the one-meter and a 310.05 in the three-meter.

The Huskies return to action next Friday when it travels to Bucknell for a 1:00 p.m. meet. The Huskies then swim against Bucknell, American and Lafayette next Saturday for a noon meet.
