Second Day of CeraVe Age Group Swimming Nets Zone Cuts

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey, January 15. WITH The second day of racing for the 14 and under swimmers, the CeraVe Invitational brings on the 2011 with best times.

Women 11-12 50 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Kaitlin Stearns, a member of the Elite Swim Club-NJ, won first place in the 50 meter freestyle with a final time of 29.03. Lakeland Hills YMCA-NJ's, Katelyn Mann, was also positioned in the top three for today's competition. She placed 2nd with a final time of 29.52. Coming in third with a final time of 29.61, was Sophie Halper a member of the 92nd St. Y Flying Dolphins-MR swimming team. All three girls qualified to compete at Zones.

Men 11-12 50 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Anton Khrystenko from Long Island Aquatic Club won the 11-12 fifty freestyle with a time of 28.66. Teammates Dylan VanManen and Yuvaraj Dhir scored in second and third places with times of 29.45 and 29.54 respectively. All three qualified for Zones again as did Berkeley Aquatic Club's Ryan Ding with a time of 29.56 and Josh Parker at 29.97.

Women 13-14 50 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
In today's 50 meter freestyle, Beatrix Panitz won first place with a final time of 28.17. Beatrix is a member of the Badger Swim Club-MR and will move onto the Sectionals 2011 and East Zones North where she qualified with a time of 28.00. Along with Panitz, Kimberly Jimenez, representing Tidal Wave Swim Team-NJ, will move on the SECT 2011 East Zone North, qualifying with a final time of 28.53. In today's competition she came in 2nd place with her time of 28.50. In third place came Cougar Aquatic Team-NJ's, Regan Kology with a time of 28.71. She has succeeded in placing herself for a spot for Zones.

Men 13-14 50 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Declan Kennon from Badger Swim Club won the fifty-meter freestyle with a Zone qualifying time of 26.76. Bill Ulrich from Morris County Swim Club took second at 26.92 and David Stewart, also from Badger Swim Club, took third place with a time of 27.06. The entire final heat was extremely close with just over one second separating first place and eighth. The top seven finishers all qualified for Zones.

Women 10 & Under 50 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Finishing in first place with a time of 35.80, in the 10 & Under 50 meter freestyle race was Alice Ye, a member of the Long Island Aquatic Club-MR. Madeline Hoedemaker, from the Eastern Express-NJ team, placed second in today's competition with a time of 36.27. Both girls will be moving on to compete at Zones. Placing third with a time of 39.02 was Sabrina Vumbacco, a member of the Westchester Aquatic Club-MR.

Men 10& Under 50 LC Meter Butterfly Age Group
Ryan Lee from Westchester Aquatic Club won the event with a time of 34.89. He was followed by Roo Fenton from Morris County Swim Club at 35.28. Ethan Anderson from Eastern Express dropped over two seconds from his seed time for a time of 35.39 to take third place. The top twelve finishers all met the Zones qualifying time for 38.18.

Women 11-12 100 LC Meter Butterfly Age Group
Cara Trebele was today's first place winner in the 100 meter butterfly. She finished with a time of 1:11.89 and has been qualified to compete in Zones. Following in second place, was Tatum Lawson of Berkeley Aquatic Club-NJ. She has also qualified to compete in Zones. Tatum finished the race with a final time of 1.12.11. Katelyn Mann, from the Lakeland Hills YMCA-NJ's team placed third with a time of 1.12.39. She had recently placed second earlier today in the 50 meter freestyle, and has qualified herself for Zones in both races.

Men 11-12 100 LC Meter Butterfly Age Group
Lenny Grant form Long Island Aquatic Club won the 11-12 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:06.13. Scarlet Aquatic Club's Justin Torres and Kevin Doo took second and third at 1:06.97 and 1:07.77. All three swimmers dropped almost two seconds from their seed times to finish in the top three.

Women 13-14 200 LC Meter Butterfly Age Group
Lindsay Stearns was today's first place winner in the 200 meter butterfly race. Her final time was 2.26.93. Finishing in second with a time of 2.27.36 was Paige Kaplan from the Long Island Aquatic Club-MR. Both girls have been qualified to compete in Sectionals 2011 and East Zone North Championships. Placing in third with a time of 2.30.22 was Jessica Arana from the Long Island Aquatic Club-MR. She will move on to compete in Zones.

Men 13-14 200 LC Butterfly Age Group
The Men's 13-14 200-meter butterfly had only one heat. The winner was Ryan Sebastian from Elite Swim Club with a time of 2:19.91. Eric Wang from Badger Swim Club came in second at 2:22.97 followed by Robby Purvis from the Westchester Marlins with a time of 2:26.92. The top four finishers have already qualified for Zones and did so again today.

Women 10 & Under 200 LC Meter IM Age Group
Alice Ye, who had previously placed first in the 10 & Under 50 meter freestyle race, placed first again in the 10 & Under 200 meter race. She finished with a final time of 2.51.43 and will be moving on to compete in Zones for both races. Placing in second was Georgia Panitz, a member of the Badger Swim Club-MR. Her final time was 2.56.71 in today's race. Claire McNeary placed third with a final time of 2.56.74. Both Panitz and McNeary will be competing in Zones for this race.

Men 10& Under 200 LC Meter IM Age Group
Ryan Lee from Westchester Aquatic Club won the Men's 200 meter IM with a time of 2:47.05. This was his second win of the day following a first place finish in the fifty butterfly. He was followed by teammate Hiroki Kaneko with a time of 2:48.99 and Long Island Aquatic Club's Michael Gregorace at 2:51.42. Declan Ahearn form the Westchester Marlins scored in fourth after dropping over seven seconds to finish at 2:56.80.

Women 11-12 100 LC Meter Breaststroke Age Group
Alexa Buckley from Berkeley Aquatic Club-NJ received first place in the 100 meter breaststroke. She finished with a time of 1.19.97 and has been qualified to compete in Zones. Coming in second place, from Scarlet Aquatic Club-NJ, was Julien Zhu. She finished with a time of 1.22.16 and will compete at Zones alongside third place winner, Isabella Weiner. Isabella is a member of the Westchester Marlins-MR and finished the race with a time of 1.22.32.

Men 11-12 100 LC Meter Breaststroke Age Group
Justin Torres, with his second top three finish of the day, won the 100 Breaststroke in 1:18.88. The Scarlet Aquatic Club swimmer dropped almost three seconds to take the top spot. He was followed by Takahiro Kaneko from Westchester Aquatic Club at 1:19.86 and Lenny Grant from Long Island Aquatic Club, also with his second top three finish of the day at 1:20.41.

Women 13-14 100 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Beatrix Panitz, who previously placed first in the 50 meter freestyle race, placed first again in the 100 meter freestyle. Panitz finished with a time of 1.00.75. She will move onto the 2011 East Zone North and Sectionals for both races. The second place winner, Regan Kology from Cougar Aquatic Team-NJ, finished with a time of 1.01.29. She also qualified herself to compete in the 2011 East Zone North SECT. Kology previously placed third in the 50 meter freestyle earlier today. Kimberly Jimenez finished in third with a final time of 1.02.16. She will move on to compete in Zones.

Men 13-14 100 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Declan Kennon from Badger Swim Club won the Men's 13-14 100-meter freestyle with a time of 57.73. Teammate Matthew Lantin took second at 58.43, dropping almost a second from his seed time and third place winner Harold Choo from New Jersey Wave dropped three seconds to finish with a time of 58.72. The top seven swimmers all qualified for Zones at under 1:00.09.

Women 10 & Under 200 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Alice Ye finished the race with a time of 2.32.76. This is her third first place win of the day and she will move on to compete in Zones for this race. Georgia Panitz also placed top three twice today. She received second place with a time of 2.39.2 and will also be competing in Zones. Claire McNeary from the Long Island Aquatic Club-MR, placed third with a time of 2.40.98. She was among the top 5 in the Women's 50 LC meter Butterfly and top 3 in the 200 LC meter butterfly earlier today. McNeary has also been qualified to compete in Zones for the 10 & Under 200 LC meter butterfly and the 10 & Under 200 LC Meter Freestyle.

Men 10& Under 200 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Ryan Lee from Westchester Aquatic Club, with his third win of the night, won the 200 freestyle at 2:28.21. Teammate Stephen Gray dropped over three seconds to finish at 2:29.33 and took second. Another teammate, Hiroki Kaneko, following his second place finish in the 200-meter IM, took third place at 2:31.26. The top eight swimmers all qualified for Zones.

Women 11-12 200 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Finishing in first place, from Long Island Aquatic Club- MR, was Cara Trebele. Trebele had previously placed first in the 100 meter butterfly. She has been qualified to compete in Zones for both races. Cara finished the race with a time of 2.15.18. In second place was Kaitlin Stearns, from the Elite Swim Club-NJ, who finished with a time of 2.17.94. She had previously placed first in the 50 LC Meter Freestyle race. Stearns will also be competing in Zones along with third place winner, Giorgia Piantanida. Piantanida is from the Long Island Aquatic Club-MR, and finished the race with a time of 2.19.87.

Men 11-12 200 LC Meter Freestyle Age Group
Justin Torres from Scarlet Aquatic Club finished first with a time of 2:12.92. This was his third top three finish of the day with a first place in the 100-meter backstroke and a second place in the 100-meter butterfly. The second place winner, Lenny Grant from Long Island Aquatic Club, finished in 2:13.45 and also had his third top three finish of the day, after earning first place in the 100-meter butterfly and third place in the 100-meter backstroke. Rounding out the top three was Dylan VanManen, at 2:13.57. This was his second top three finish of the day. All three swimmers dropped their seed times as well.

Women 13-14 400 LC Meter IM Age Group
In the 400 LC Meter IM race, Jessica Arana placed first. She finished with a time of 5.14.70, qualifying her a position at the 2011 East Zone North SECT. Second place winner, Sarah Slepian also qualified for a spot at the 2011 East Zone North SECT, finishing the race with a time of 5.18.76. Third place winner, Jessica Antiles finished the race with a 5.20.31 time. Antiles will move on to compete in Zones.

Men 13-14 400 LC Meter IM Age Group
Elite Swim Club's Ryan Sebastian dropped three seconds in the 400 meter IM to take first place in 4:53.95. This was his second first of the day; he also won the 200 butterfly. Harold Choo, with his second top three finish of the day, came in at 5:04.47. Matthew Lantin also had a second top three finish after coming in third at 5:06.16. The top eight swimmers all qualified for Zones.

Women 10 & Under 50 LC Meter Breaststroke Age Group
Berkeley Aquatic Club-NJ's Lindsay Rispoli finished the 50 LC Meter Breaststroke with a time of 42.42. Rispoli dropped about 3.05 of her time. In second place came Holly Johnson with a final time of 43.40. Third place winner, Georgia Panitz, who previously placed top three in two other races, finished with a time of 43.89. All three girls met the qualification time to compete in Zones.

Men 10 & Under 50 LC Meter Breaststroke Age Group
Hiroki Kaneko took first place with a time of 41.48. This was his third top three finish of the day; he also took second in the 200 IM and third in the 200 freestyle. Matthew Tu, from the Westchester Marlins came in second with a time of 41.67 and Timothy Marski from the Long Island Aquatic Club came in third at 45.33. The top three finishers also earned Zone times.
