ACOG Closes Shop -- July 2, 1997

The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) went out of business with a break-even budget. ACOG closed the books on a $1.7 billion budget, which doled out more than $541 million for construction of venues and $315 million on employee salaries. The $39 million left will be used to cover remaining construction projects and several pending lawsuits. Once those debts are paid, what's left will go to the USOC.
