Chesapeake Elite Pro-Am: Knockout 50s Featured on Night Three

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, December 18. THE third evening of short course yards competition at the Chesapeake Elite Pro-Am featured the knockout 50 frees, along with plenty of other swift swimming.

Wichita's Alison Soelter touched out FAST's Anna Linkenauger, 2:03.77 to 2:03.80, for the women's 200 IM win. FAST's Julia Anderson took third overall in 2:05.04. FAST's Robert Margalis claimed the men's 200 IM title in 1:44.83. Nelson Silva (1:50.19) and TCU's Andy Garcia-Montes (1:51.90) comprised the rest of the podium.

FAST's Megan Jendrick topped the women's 200 breast in 2:12.59, while Florida Keys' Mhyria Miller earned second in 2:14.80. Soelter picked up her second podium of the night with a third-place 2:15.20. Longhorn's Matt Lowe dominated the men's 200 breast in 1:54.87. SMU's Thomas Cole placed second in 2:02.38, while Garcia-Montes snared third in 2:04.34.

Mustangs' Claire Brandt nabbed the women's 100 back crown in 55.81. Anderson touched second in 57.08, while Mission Viejo's Jax Shoults earned third in 57.43. Daytona's Rex Tullius captured his third gold medal of the meet with a winning time of 46.54 in the men's 100 back. Schroeder's Adam Mania took second in 47.46, while Silva placed third in 48.14.

FAST's Emily Brunemann took home the women's 500 free title in 4:43.84. SMU's Alice McCall (4:53.17) and RAC Aquahawgs' Jennifer Holtzen (4:54.36) picked up second and third. Longhorn's Michael Klueh touched in a 4:16.04 for the men's 500 free win. Mission Viejo's Logan Redondo took second in 4:25.52, while Houston's Jake Ritter finished third in 4:27.22.

In the knockout 50 frees, SMU's Emily Vavourakis touched out Brandt, 23.30 to 23.37, for the women's win, while Mania cruised to the men's title with a 20.04 over SMU's Mindaugas Sadauskas (20.20).

FAST's Julia Anderson, Anna Linkenauger, Alexandra Lakota and Kristalyn McAfee won the women's 400 medley relay in 3:52.51, while SMU's Mindaugas Sadauskas, Thomas Cole, David Larsson and Giedrius Andriunaitis topped the men's 400 medley relay in 3:21.21.
